Pure nickel conductors
Pure nickel has the ability to withstand relatively high temperatures without deterioration.
Maximum operating temperature is approx. 600 °C.
Common uses include:-
- electrical connecting leads where temperatures are in excess of those for which copper is suitable
- wire weaving.
Typical applications include:-
- terminations for heating elements as in ovens, plastics extruders, furnaces.
- filament supports and lead wires in the lighting industry.
Nickel wire is available in single strand or multi-strand construction. It is supplied from stock either bare, or insulated.
Single strand
All diameters, from 3.25mm down to 0.06mm can be supplied on standard DIN reels or in drum packs where appropriate.
Multi strand
The following standard multi-strand wires are held in stock. Alternative constructions are available.
