Thermocouple cable
Cable is required to make the connection between the thermocouple and the measuring instrument. We can supply either extension or compensating type. Extension cables uses the same alloys as the thermocouple. Compensating cable uses different alloys which have a matched e.m.f. output over the appropriate temperature range.
Cable selections should be made after consideration of the temperature, moisture, chemical and abrasive conditions to which it will be subjected in use.
Construction
Conductors are single or multi-strand thermocouple wire calibrated to BS 4937 Part 30:1993, IEC 584 Part 3.
Standard construction for all cables consists of: insulated conductors, laid side by side (twin flat), sheathed overall.
Twin twisted and other constructions are also available.
Overbraiding
All cables are available with the following overbraid:-
- Tinned copper - for electrical screening/shielding
- Stainless steel - for abrasive resistance
- Copper nickel - for corrosion resistant electrical screening/shielding
Packaging
Cable is supplied as standard on 100m, 250m, 500m or 1000m reels. Other lengths are available in response to customer request.
